Villa fans target Jamie Carragher during Fulham game after podcast comments

Aston Villa fans targeted Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher during the Premier League clash with Fulham.

Carragher apologised after Villa threatened legal proceedings against him for “unacceptable insults” he made on the Stick To Football podcast.

The former Liverpool defender admitted he used “clumsy and wrong” language when discussing their position in the football food chain during Thursday’s episode.

Carragher told Villa fans to “shut the f*** up” after facing criticism for suggesting Unai Emery should consider taking the Manchester United job should Michael Carrick be sacked.

Home fans at Villa Park were quick to respond as they chanted “Jamie Carragher, what a w*****, what a w****” in the opening minutes of the home clash with Fulham.
