In February 2019, the premises of the iconic building on Main Street was gutted in a blaze, which took 40 firefighters from Donegal and Derry to bring under control. The ballroom and the John Barr drapery shop next door on Buncrana’s Main Street were destroyed in the blaze. The ballroom will be re-opening at a later date.
