The Strictly judge will portray Mother Superior on stages around the UK and Ireland as part of a new tour of the beloved musical.

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has joined the convent and will star in a UK and Ireland tour of Sister Act.

The 61-year-old, who previously directed and choreographed the UK tour of the beloved musical in 2015, will portray Mother Superior – a role made famous by the late Dame Maggie Smith in the 1992 film, in a new stage production.

The show follows lounge singer Deloris Van Cartier who is forced to go into hiding and live as a nun after witnessing a crime. Her unassuming disguise is quickly put into jeopardy as she begins to transform the struggling convent choir.
