Aer Arann say they expect the first flight to Inis Meáin in two weeks to take off this afternoon.

The company signed an agreement with the Department of Community, Equality and Gaeltacht affairs to take over the running of the airport late last evening.

A pay dispute led to the cancellation of the three scheduled air services to the Island two weeks ago.

A spokesperson for Aer Arann say they expect the licence from the Irish aviation authority to arrive this morning, meaning the 4 30 flight from Inverin to Inis Meáin can take off as scheduled.
