CALL FOR RESOLUTION TO INIS OIRR WATER CRISIS

There needs to be a long term solution to water shortages on the Island of Inis Oírr.

That's according to Councillor Seán O Tuairisg as Islanders are once again forced to wait on deliveries of bottled water for consumption.

Last Friday, the county council issued an alert that water is not safe to drink even after boiling because of salt water contamination.

A lack of rain on Inis Oírr, increased tourist numbers, and busy summer colleges have meant water is rationed from 11am to 6pm.

Councillor Seán O'Tuairisg is calling for real solutions to the water crisis.
