The 25 Irish Rail train services changed or cancelled ahead of Bank Holiday weekend

As many as 25 Irish Rail services affecting Galway will be changed and replaced by bus services or cancelled entirely over the Bank Holiday weekend.

This is due to ongoing engineering works between Limerick and Limerick Junction which will see various “alterations and amendments” according to Irish Rail.

For Ennis and Galway services on Saturday and Sunday, bus transfers will operate directly from Limerick to Ennis, with a second bus serving Sixmilebridge and Ennis. Passengers can then travel the Ennis to Galway leg of the journey via train.

Bus transfers will operate on both days for journeys from Ennis to Limerick. Passengers travelling from Galway to Limerick should note that train services will operate to Ennis only, will the remainder of the journey being replaced by bus transfers.

For rail services to Dublin Heuston, passengers will travel by bus from Limerick to Limerick Junction, and will then travel by train from Limerick Junction to Heuston.

Passengers are advised to check the Journey Planner for full details.

Transport for Ireland’s full list of service alterations and amendments is as follows:
