'Destined to be a pharmacist' - Young man has full circle moment at Mayo pharmacy
Young man who did his TY work experience at Cong pharmacy returns 8 years later as a qualified pharmacist
Cong Pharmacy is celebrating a full circle moment after a young man who began work experience there as a transition year student 8 years ago has returned as a fully qualified pharmacist.
Seanie began his transition year work experience at the pharmacy in October 2016, and the staff at Cong pharmacy have watched him go from a student to a fully qualified professional.
Seanie returned to the pharmacy this week for his first day working as a fully qualified pharmacist. The pharmacy shared before and after photographs on Facebook to mark the occasion, showing Seanie during his transition year placement, and him today working as a pharmacist.
Since his work experience, Seanie continued to have a strong connection with the pharmacy, returning during summers, Christmas breaks and “any day in between when we needed him,” Cong pharmacy said.
Seanie also helped our during the Covid 19 pandemic, a time that was particularly challenging for pharmacies.
They said that Seanie has “always been a brilliant worker” and has always enjoyed chatting to customers and getting to know everyone who came through the door.
“We are delighted and lucky to have him back to us today and a few more days in the future if he will have us,” they said.
The Facebook post received great response from the local community, with one person commenting, “what a fantastic story, wishing you all the best in your future career. Sounds like you were destined to be a pharmacist, well done you.”
Another said, “well done Seanie... congratulations. Well done Ryles, ye obviously made a great impression.”
The brilliant full circle moment will come as a nice surprise to those in the community who will certainly be happy to see Seanie’s face back at Cong pharmacy.
