Andy Moran gives injury update ahead of All-Ireland semi-final

Mayo manager is positive about injuries ahead of Louth game
THERE is positive news from the Mayo camp this afternoon as they continue preparations for the upcoming All-Ireland semi-final against Louth.
Speaking at a press-briefing in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park, team manager Andy Moran said his squad were in good shape ahead of crucial training weekend.
“Darren McHale, our highest-scorer last year, is the only one ruled out at the moment. Paddy Durcan and Diarmuid O’Connor are back running and hope to be fit for the Louth game and Fenton Kelly will be back in full training tonight,” the Ballaghaderreen clubman stated.
He was also very positive about the prospects of corner-back Eoin McGreal who left the field with a leg injury against Cork in the quarter-final. “Eoin is fine. It was just a knock and he’s sound.”
The manager said he doesn’t want to tempt fate, but his medical team were doing a great job with the squad and everyone was looking forward to the semi-final with renewed energy. Their hard work is paying dividends, he added before being asked about one of the game’s most decorated forwards.
“Cillian (O’Connor) is fit for selection. Of course, like everyone else he has to get through the next few sessions, but he’ll be challenging for a place like everyone else. James Carr is flying too, he’s kicking down my door looking for a place in the squad.”
