Kilrush Gardaí, along with Muintir na Tíre and the Kilmihil Active Retirement Association, are hosting a 'Community Comeback' event this Friday, May 30, from 11am to 1pm.

The event involves showcasing services and supports available to older people in Kilmihil Community Centre. The invite to this 'Community Comeback' event is open to people from all over the county and neighbouring communities are also welcome to attend if they wish.

A multitude of services will be on offer, including free health checks, free food and free advice from over 25 different support agencies such as An Garda Síochána, Muintir na Tíre, ALONE, HSE, the County Council, CROI, RSA, IFA, Specsavers, TASK alarms, Embrace Farm as well as other health services.

The 'Community Comeback' programme seeks to build on community support at its most local level in rural towns and villages.

The aim is reaching out to the most vulnerable and isolated members and the idea of 'Community Comeback' is based on showcasing available services in a rural location outside of urban settings, in a local venue which is easily accessible and arranged by a Community Alert Group.
