Information sought on movements of car stolen from outside Limerick home
GARDAI are appealing for information about the movements of stolen car which they believe was used in the commission of a crime after it was taken.
The black Ford Focus, which was stolen from outside a house in Limerick city during the early hours of last Thursday, was located by gardai at the weekend.
Making an appeal for information, Garda John Finnerty outlined what happened.
"A thief targeted a house at Marian Drive in Janesboro last Thursday morning. He broke into the house via the front porch between 4am and 6am and he stole the keys to the family car which had been left in the porch. He went back outside and used the keys to access the car," he said.
The car, which has a 09L registration, was then driven away but gardai say they don't know the direction of travel.
"This car was subsequently recovered by the gardai at 8.30pm last Saturday at St John’s Avenue, off Mulgrave Street. This car may have been involved in the commission of crime between Thursday morning and Saturday evening," added Garda Finnerty.
Anyone who may have come across the stolen Ford Focus or who has any information about the burglary are asked to contact Roxboro Road garda station at (061) 214340.
