Lee Reeves has been in hospital since being knocked out during a fight at the 3Arena in August
A FRIEND of Lee Reeves has shared that the popular Limerick boxer no longer needs to be attached to any machines.
Former boxer Jonathan O’Brien, who has been using his social media platform to share updates on the 31-year-old’s progress, shared the positive news this Friday morning.
“I was on to Lee's sister yesterday. Just a small update with Lee,” he explained.
“They're going to move him to a smaller room because he's on nothing - no machines. He had some yoke in his nose and they've taken it away now. Lee doesn't need no machines now, so he's going into a ward by himself.”
Jonathan added that this is “great news” for the Roxboro native’s family.
Lee has been in hospital since being knocked out during a fight at the 3Arena on August 1. He was recently transferred to University Hospital Limerick from hospital in Dublin.
“I say it all the time guys,” Jonathan continued. “Lee needs needs a miracle and he needs prayers and he needs plenty of physio and then that's it. We’ve just got to keep praying and Lee then, praise God, comes around and starts working hard on his physio and comes around a little bit more than what he's come around already.”
Jonathan explained that Lee’s “not fully there yet”.
“There's little movements, little improvements, but not major. So as I say to yous all, the power of prayers is amazing. Keep praying for Lee guys, keep praying for Lee. We need Lee to get back to himself.”
