A FEMALE motorist, who parked in a disabled bay to get chips was put off the road, at Kilmallock Court.

Garda John Curtin said at 7.40pm on March 15, 2017 he observed a vehicle in a disabled bay on Sarsfield Street, Kilmallock.

Clodagh Bonfield, aged 21, of Barna, Newport was before the court on the summons.

Garda Curtin said a lady, who was coming from a take-away restaurant, approached him.

“There was no disabled sticker on the car. There are only two disabled bays in the town. They are very important,” said Garda Curtin.

There was no appearance by Ms Bonfield or representation on her behalf.

Judge Marie Keane convicted and fined Ms Bonfield €250.

“I am disqualifying her from driving for three months.

“It’s a despicable offence,” added Judge Keane.
