LIMERICK residents are gearing up for a flavourful day of community celebrations as Street Feast 2023 arrives in the city.

Street Feast is a national initiative that encourages neighbors to come together, share food, and enjoy each other's company in a festive atmosphere.

Coming back to the Treaty County this Sunday, the event has seen tremendous success in previous years, with gatherings taking place in front gardens, streets, greens, car parks, local parks, and community centers.

Founder of Street Feast, Sam Bishop, expressed his anticipation for this year's celebrations, stating, "We can't wait to see what you come up with! Knock on one door - that's all it takes to get started." By hosting a street party, participants have the opportunity to foster a lasting legacy of community spirit and strengthen the bonds within their local area.

Sam advises potential hosts to start small and keep it simple. To support organisers, the Street Feast team is readily available to provide assistance and offer creative solutions to any challenges that may arise during the planning process. The key is to reach out and collaborate, ensuring a successful and memorable day for all.

Minister of State for Community Development, Integration, and Charities, Joe O'Brien, expressed his support for Street Feast 2023, stating, "The Department of Rural and Community Development is delighted to be the core funder of Street Feast 2023. Street Feast enables important connections to be made at the community and neighborhood level."

To participate in Street Feast 2023, interested parties are encouraged to register at StreetFeast.ie and secure their free party pack before the registration deadline of Monday, June 19. The party pack contains essential resources to help hosts organize their feasts and make the event a resounding success.

Limerick residents have already shown great enthusiasm for Street Feast, with 11 feasts registered thus far. However, organisers are urging more people to join in and embrace this unique opportunity to meet their neighbors, celebrate their community, and make lasting memories.
