A DIAMOND certified pop musician from America spent a day with his family on a farm in rural county Limerick.

Songwriter Robin Thicke, who penned and performed the hit single Blurred Lines, went on a trip to Kilmeedy Social Farm on Thursday, June 18.

The family came to the farm via Adare Manor, and were chauffeured by a driver from the hotel.

Barry Gilbourne, a local primary school teacher and the owner of Kilmeedy Social Farm, said that it was really special to have the Thicke family come visit the farm.

“It’s great to have someone of his calibre come visit and reaffirm the work that we do,” Barry said.

Barry described how the Thicke family were particularly enchanted by their robotic dairy parlour, and said that Mr Thicke’s wife was particularly taken with the goats on the farm.

The aim of Kilmeedy Social Farm is to educate the public on what happens on a farm. The attraction regularly welcomes school tours and visitors with special needs.

The farm boasts pigs, cows, goats, puppies, kittens, a sensory room and a tea room.

The farm, commenting of the pop star’s visit on social media, wrote: “Thank you for visiting Kilmeedy Social Farm — we’ll never forget it.”
