With 2 groups of 4 this year all 8 teams will qualify for this Saturday’s quarter finals and so it’s a case of who will

be playing who with Tuesdays result (Nenagh Eire Og and Toomevara play on Tuesday evening in the final game in Group 2) determining who finished 3rd and 4th in the group.

Having won the Junior A Championship last year Moycarkey Borris have continued their winning ways with 3 wins on the

bounce to top group 1.

Despite conceding 4 goals to Kilruane MacDonaghs at the weekend they still managed a big win, 1-33 to 4-05 the full time score.

Sarah Corcoran put in another great performance scoring 1-15 in total. All of Moycarkey’s 6 forwards got on the scoresheet while Maria Kinane was brilliant in defence.

All 4 of Kilruane’s goals came from the Shinners sisters with Laura bagging an impressive hattrick while Clodagh also raised a green flag. In the other game in the group Cahir continued their good form to date to beat Newport Ballinahinch 2-10 to 9 points.

Cahir started the better of the 2 teams and led at half time 2-06 to 3 points. Newport came back stronger in the second half and outscored Cahir 6 points to 4 but Cahir’s 2 goals from Roisin Howard and Anna Downey proved crucial.

Orla McEniry in goals along with captain Laura Dillion, Emma Buckley and Roisin Finnane were all excellent for the

winners.

Tipperary star Roisin Howard finished with 1-07 to Cahirs 2-10 total. The win cemented Cahir’s second spot in the group. While 1 win and 2 losses means Newport Ballinahich finish 3rd ahead of Kilruane MacDonaghs in 4th spot.

Boherlahan Dualla have topped group 2 thanks to another fine win this time against Nenagh Eire Og. Goals were key as Boherlahan struck for 4 while keeping a clean sheet. Sisters Clodagh and Emma Horgan (2) scored 3 of the goals while Mya Hickey hit the 4th.

At half time the mid Tipp side led 3-07 to 0-6 before running out 4-14 to 13 point winners. Grace O’Brien was best for Nenagh scoring 12 of their 13 points.

In the other game in the group Moneygall had a big win over Toomevara 5-21 to 5 points. Moneygall were in full control by half time and took a 2-11 to 2 point lead in at the break. Niamh Larkin was in devastating form in attack finishing with 2-05 from play while Mairead Teehan scored 1-04 and Emma Costello 2 goals to round off a fantastic weekend of camogie.
