Garda Armed Support Unit called to firearm discharge incident in Clonmel

The Garda Armed Support Unit was called to a residential area in Clonmel after a firearm was allegedly discharged there on Monday evening.

The Garda Press Office said gardaí were dispatched to the residential area at approximately 8.40pm on Monday in response to a 999 call from a member of the public.

“The assistance of the Garda Armed Support Unit was requested and subsequently arrived to the scene to respond to the incident.”

A Garda Press Office spokesperson declined to identify the residential area. He pointed out that no injuries were reported and Garda enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
