Tipperary swimming pool campaign launch survey for parents

The We Just Want to Swim campaign in Templemore have launched a survey for parents.

The survey asks about swimming class needs in the Templemore area and allows parents to express their views.

Campaign organiser Deirdre Ryan said on social media:

"It is a real positive that this campaign helped to secure access for local schools to the Garda College Templemore swimming pool. We had hoped however, that this would lead to restarting Friday night swimming and life saving classes for the hundreds of local children on the waiting list.

"Not only did this not occur, but due to a complete change in the policies in the Garda College, evening classes for children have been dismissed, leaving a generation of local children cast aside and put at risk.

"This campaign will not accept this for our children. We now need to understand the present need for swimming pool access for the local communities."

In their latest post, they say just under 300 people have filled in the survey so far.
