Better facilities for cyclists are needed at Kildare train station

Stronger arrangements are needed for people who cycle to Sallins rail station.
Green Party politician Bob Quinn wants Kildare County Council to apply pressure on Iarnród Éireann.
Cllr Quinn said at a Naas Municipal District meeting that the vacant underground car park in The Waterways should be used to provide space for commuter bicycle parking.
He said every parking space in the area is taken up five days a week and there is a need for better bicycle parking facilities,
KCC engineer Donal Hodgins said that the council “supports the development of accessible cycle parking facilities at public service destinations.”
KCC is to write to Iarnród Éireann seeking a meeting to discuss the provision of the facility.
