Gardai called as row flares up at Offaly pub

GARDAI were called to a row at a pub in Tullamore town centre tonight (Thursday, October 26).
After up to a dozen people were seen on the footpath outside the Omiya Bar on Patrick Street shortly before 10pm, gardai soon arrived with what one witness said was at least three patrol cars.
Then as many as half a dozen gardai were gathered at the scene to deal with the incident and at least one young man was seen being put in a car and taken to the garda station nearby.
One garda stood in the centre of the street helping to keep traffic moving as several vehicles, including people accessing the take-away beside the public house, arrived at the trouble spot.
After a short period calm appeared to be restored and customers were seen in the pub and at the front door.
