A warm community spirit will be brewing today as locals gather for a special “Coffee Afternoon” in support of Cancer Care West and brain tumour awareness.

Taking place at The Laurentic Bar in Buncrana, the event promises something for all ages while raising vital funds for cancer services in the west of Ireland.

Running from 12pm to 4pm, organisers are inviting people of all ages to drop in, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee or a sweet treat, and support a cause that touches many lives across the region.

The fundraiser aims to raise vital funds for Cancer Care West (Letterkenny Branch), which provides essential support services to cancer patients and their families throughout the North West. This year’s event also shines a spotlight on brain tumour awareness, helping to increase understanding and encourage community solidarity.

Attendees can look forward to a lively atmosphere, with homemade treats, fresh coffee, and plenty of activities to keep younger visitors entertained. A bouncy castle will be set up on-site, while a raffle on the day offers the chance to win a variety of prizes generously donated by local businesses.

Organised by Thomas Mc Gowan, Helena Gillespie, and Ciara Barber, the trio have been working hard behind the scenes to bring the event together. They have also extended heartfelt thanks to the many local businesses and individuals who have already offered their support, with an open invitation to anyone else who would like to contribute.

With colourful decorations, sweet treats, and a welcoming environment, the Coffee Afternoon is shaping up to be a highlight of the Easter weekend calendar.

Residents are encouraged to come along, bring friends and family, and support a cause that continues to provide hope and care to so many.

Tickets for the Coffee Afternoon are available now at The Laurentic Bar and will also be on sale at the door during the event.

Donations can also be made via a QR code available on promotional materials for those unable to attend in person.
