Cllr Padraig Fallon
Cllr Padraig Fallon asked what if any progress has been made with regard to removal of dangerous trees at Sheena, Drumkeeran stating that the trees "pose a serious risk to the homes of tenants, pedestrian road users and children walking to the National School."
He said that one did come down "around 12 months ago".
A report by the Roads office stated that the housing section have sought quotations for the removal of these trees, quotations are due in and once the contractor is appointed the trees will be removed as soon as possible.
Cllr Mary Bohan supported the motion and said that "children use the footpath on that side for going to school" and said she didn't understand the delay with the quotes. "It is urgent. One did fall but luckily there was nobody walking at the time."
Eric Gilroy, Civil Engineer at Leitrim County Council, said he would "put a bit of pressure on" to ensure that it gets done as soon as possible.
