Met Éireann is warning of "very strong and gusty" winds in several counties ahead of the weekend which could result in 'difficult travelling conditions' during the busy mid-term break.
The forecaster has issued status yellow wind warnings for seven counties in Ireland as the weather system approaches.
The first of the warnings - for Cork and Kerry - comes into effect at at 4am on Friday while the second - for counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow and Waterford - will be valid from 6am until 10am.
According to Met Éireann, potential impacts include some fallen trees or branches, difficult travelling conditions and debris, or loose objects being displaced.
