Despite the frosty weather racing went ahead in Clonmel today following an early morning inspection at the Powerstown Park track.

The day worked out well for Willie Mullins who brought five horses to Clonmel and three of them turned out to be winners with the other two runners up in the same races.

Quai De Bourbon, the 2/5 favourite romped home, winning for the second time in two attempts taking home the feature race the Munster Hurdle ahead of stablemate Westport Cove by just under a length.

It was a double as well in the Kilsheelan Mares’ Maiden Hurdle when Brian Hayes rode the unfancied Implicit home at 4/1, coming out on top at the expense of the 4/6 favourite Enola who led until the last fence.

Jimmy Du Seuil, racing at 2-9, made it a great day out for Mullins when the hat-trick was secured in the Monroe Maiden Hurdle with Paul Townend on board as 3pm approached.

Elsewhere the 7/4 favourite Moneyheist won the opener while the favourite Casey West took the Rathronan Maiden Hunters’ Chase with Tiernan Power Roche in the saddle for trainer Philip Rothwell.

The Lisronagh Handicap Hurdle was won by the Edward O’Grady-trained Always Enchanting at 9/2 while the Tipperary Handicap Hurdle was won at 5/1 by Lissen To The Lady with Joanna Walton on board.
