The following deaths have occurred:-
Jean Doherty, 14 Central Drive, Creggan
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Jean Doherty, (peacefully) at her home, on 15th December 2022, late of 14 Central Drive, Creggan. Beloved daughter of the late Bernard and Elizabeth (Lizzie), loving sister of Betty, Helen, Celine, Pat, Angela, Mary and the late Peggy, Hugh, Brian. Tony and Billy. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her niece's, nephew's, wider family circle, friends and neighbours. Jean's remains will be reposing at her late home, 14 Central Drive, Creggan.. Funeral leaving from there on Saturday, 17th December at 9.20am for 10.00am Requiem Mass in St. Mary's Church, Creggan. Burial immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery. Patrick (Patsy) McErlean, 61 Ballymacombs Road, Bellaghy
The death has occurred of Patrick (Patsy) McErlean, 15th December 2022, (peacefully) late of 61 Ballymacombs Road, Bellaghy, beloved son of the late Henry and Sarah, much loved brother of Henry, Kathleen (Mc Kernan), Ann (Mc Closkey), Brigid (McAlynn), Margaret (Robinson), Gerard and the late Thomas, John, Teresa (Robb) and Elizabeth (Hasson). Patsy’s remains will leave his late residence on Saturday, 17th December 2022 at 9.30am for 10.00am Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Bellaghy, (which can be viewed via the church webcam), burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Deeply regretted by his sorrowing brothers, sisters, brothers in law, sister in law, nephews, nieces and all the family circle. Sacred Heart of Jesus Have Mercy on his soul. NB: Patsy's wake will officially begin in his late residence on Thursday, 15th December at 7.00pm. Mary (Bebe) O'Kane (née Doherty), 25 Abbott’s Walk, Derry
The death has taken place of Mary (Bebe) O'Kane (née Doherty), 15th December 2022, (peacefully) at home, beloved wife of the late Matt, loving mother of Feargal, Gerard, Martin, Siobhan, Fiona, Sally and the late Liam, Barry, Michael and Kevin Barry, a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother and dear sister of Sally, Anna, Gerry, Sean and the late Kathleen. Funeral from her home, 25 Abbott’s Walk, on Saturday at 9.30am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in St Columba’s Church, Longtower. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.
Maria Georgina Palmer (née McBride), 1 Ardbana Riverside, Coleraine
The death has taken place of Maria Georgina Palmer (née McBride), 14th December 2022, (peacefully) at hospital, 1 Ardbana Riverside, Coleraine. Dearly loved wife of Raymond, loving mother of Peter, Paul and Steven and a much loved mother-in-law, grandmother and sister. Funeral Service in Wades Funeral Home on Wednesday, 21st December 2022 at 11.00am followed by interment in Coleraine Cemetery. Ellen Simpson (née McAlister), 21 Westland Drive, Magherafelt
The death has taken place of Ellen Simpson (née McAlister), 15th December 2022, (peacefully) at Marina Care Home, Ballronan, (in her 95th year), dearly beloved wife of the late James (Jim), 21 Westland Drive, Magherafelt, much loved mother of Geoffrey, Lexie and Gail, dear mother-in-law of Julie and Anne, cherished granny of Rebecca, Sharon, Lynn and Alan, also a loving great-grandmother and dearest sister of the late Maggie, Meta, Seffie, May, Eggie, Joey, Archie and Jim. Everyone welcome at her home. Funeral from her home on Sunday, 18th December at 2.00pm, for service in Calvary Free Presbyterian Church, Magherafelt at 2.30pm, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.
