Cheyenne Campbell (19) of Mount Street in Derry appeared charged with breaching her bail on May 28

Derry Magistrate's Court heard today how a young woman was found to be under the influence of drugs at 8.20am and had to be held up by police.

Cheyenne Campbell (19) of Mount Street in Derry appeared charged with breaching her bail on May 28.

The court heard that police were called to a garage in Limavady and found Campbell along with another woman who appeared to be under the influence of some substance.

Police couldn't smell alcohol and believed she was under the influence of non prescribed drugs.

They checked Campbell's bail conditions and she was not supposed to be using any drugs.

The police officer said that this was Campbell's seventh breach of bail and on the last occasion she had been remanded in custody before being released by the High Court.

The court heard that police believed that there was 'zero chance' of Campbell adhering to her bail conditions.

Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley said that his instructions were that his client did not accept the bail breach.

He said Campbell maintained that she was 'not under the influence of anything'.

The police officer said that both the custody officer and medical professional had deemed her to be under the influence of drugs.

Deputy District Judge Sean O'Hare ruled that a breach had occurred.

Mr Quigley said that the defendant had no record and denies the main charge she is on bail for.

Campbell was released on bail on condition she gets a surety to sign bail for her.

She will appear again on June 6.
