Donegal County Council has given the green light to the erection of 11 two-storey terraced townhouses in two blocks in the border village of Muff

The development of 11 new terraced townhouses in Muff has been given the go-ahead by Donegal County Council.

The local authority has granted planning permission to Warren Kearns of WP Kearns Ltd for the development.

The site in question is the old Garda station in the birder town, which was previously granted permission for the development of apartments.

In this instance, the Council has given the green light to the erection of 11 two-storey terraced townhouses in two blocks.

A road safety audit has been ordered as part of the 25 conditions laid down by the Council.

Prior to the commencement of the development, the applicant or any person with an interest in the land shall enter into an agreement with the planning authority that restricts all residential units permitted to first occupation by individual purchasers - those not being a corporate entity, and/or by those eligible for the occupation of social and/or affordable housing, including cost rental housing.

The Council says that this is “to restrict new housing development to use by persons of a particular class or description in order to ensure an adequate choice and supply of housing, including affordable housing, in the common good”.

The developer will also be responsible for provision and maintenance of all common services and all common areas including the of areas open space, play area and attenuation systems.
