Do you know any local place names?
Website aims to record colloquial names
A new website http://meitheal.logainm.ie/en/ is asking local people to help create a comprehensive record of local placenames.
The website is very user-friendly and allows contributors to log on a map, local names such as field names, lanes, crossroads,
street corners etc.
There is no threshold of evidence needed, all a contributor has to do is log the name and, if possible, write a line as to the origin of the name, if known.
The site is ideal for putting on the record place-names -which have not been picked up in the Ordnance Survey mapping.
